do a little more research bud, This GTO was actually engineered in Australia, GM Australia. It was named Monaro, it did so well that it was brought to the states as the GTO. so its actually australian like the other guy said.

Yeah your right.. GTO has no chance on a track. It ONLY has 400hp/400tq. They ONLY have the same EXACT LS2 engine as a Z06 corvette. Lets see your 1.8L honda pull up beside a 6.0L GTO on the strip then we will see who has a chance. By the way 17.5 @89mph is NOT fast.

man i remember wanting an sti so bad i used to bash on all american cars but my tastes have changed. after having owned an s2000 for 3 years as my dd i have to say id pick the 6.0l gto any day over the sti. why? nowadays i'm for interested in a good dd with decent performance no longer do i care so much about handling (s2000 offers gobs). the sit is just too high strung for ling trips imo (im a senior in college started student teaching and travel 50mi/day) the gto-power comfort quiet:)
