Are the inlets for connection to the rv water lines able to be tightened? The lower one on my water heater has a small leak, but not at the line connection--on the actual water tank above the connection. It is an Atwood heater.

This may sound like a stupid question, but do you need to turn the power to the RV off before doing the things shown in the video?

If the water heater is not working perfectly I'd get it checked & fixed by a certified RV technician. If there is even a tiny leak that lets water get inside it can cause mold to grow inside your RV or damage your floor or short circuit other electrical components. I'm faced with replacing my RV water heater now and replacing some carpet and repairing floor damage. I should have inspected and replaced my water heater a year ago. Didn't know it was leaking - a leak equals damage.

i have a vw camper with a chautaux water heater,a small plastic cap got damaged at the very bottom of the heater ,and now theres a leak the cap was covering a small hole which when pressured up squirts water, can i block this hole or do i need to fit a cap back on,also since this, my burner is a bit eratic and doesnt allways fire up when the hot water tap is opened, any ideas appreciated, forgive my description but my knowledge of plumbing is very basic.

Thanks! Might have helped to use a remote lapel mic so the ambient noise doesn't interfere.
