I think it's great that you have done this. I've wanted to do something similar for about 15 years but would like to have a friend to help me with the building since I'm a woman w/o building skills. Lost two jobs and wondering if I'll ever work full time again, sounds like an even better idea. In Los Angeles everyone thinks they need a new car and a 2,000 sq. foot house! I grew up in the country so it would be nice to live a rural lifestyle again, I'll check out book someday, thanks for info

You are awesome, thanks for the amazing video. I'm certain as time goes on we will be finding more and more ways to get electricity off grid and will see more things like this, it's just the natural evolution if you ask me. Thanks for being a pioneer for people trying to keep up with a system that isn't real and a game they can never win: Money and society. I always wonder that guy who made the documentary "alone in the wilderness" in alaska - would he have returned if he had electricity? haha

In Canada the government has to not only give a rebate, but also pay you much more for the electricity you give back than its actually worth. It's like that in a lot of other Countries too. Also, I believe that if your running purely off solar; it would be a good idea no matter what to set up a battery storage.

Honestly this man has thought some things out, and reminds me of my uncle. I think this is a genius idea, and if more ppl did it then maybe the big companies would take a hit and finally stop making slaves of us. Good job solarcabin!!! i'll def be sharing these videos with others!!!

solarcabin Says:
It depends on the state and not all states give a rebate for grid tied so do some research before going that way. A grid tied system won't work if the power goes out unless you have a battery storage system as well.

KylesTechTips Says:
If you can be hooked up to the grid, it's even better than purely off the grid. Cause any extra power you can create can be sold back to the grid for a profit. You don't pay utility bills and you actually can get paid.

He isn't trying to help no one. This man knows that only so little people would actually fall out of the 'comfort' of the slave lifestyle and for those VERY little who actually are going to do this, this video is for that very little amount of people.

i knew this was possible, i inherited land also, but now i have a fat electric bill and water. this house is way too big for me. its a mobile home actually and not even in my name yet-still in my parents name even though my grandpa left it to me. im gonna start looking around for rough land because i would prefer solar and a well anyways, so the freaking electric co and water company can stop ripping me off!
