Do you also know that whichever scientist comes out with research that disapproves the use of GM foods, has been fired. This video is SO disturbing & makes my blood boil! Why and how is it that ONE company has been able to bully, cheat, lie and play dirty like this ALL OVER THE WORLD. GM food is NOT SAFE for human consumption and has had a huge scientific backlash. Unfortunately whichever scientist has disapproved its use, has been fired. The politicians aren't going to do anything. We, the public must stand up.

I have no problem with GM foods...the potential benefits are enormous. However, I HATE Monsato and their research/business practices. They're irresponsible, greedy, and power hungry. Their constant pursuit of agricultural dominance is disgusting.

More lives could have been saved using $100,000,000 for supplements or to grow existing foods rich in nutrients. Conventional breeding has already created numerous nutrient enhanced crops such as Orange Maize, Orange Sweet Potato, High Beta Carotene Tomato, etc. and most studies suggest organic farming generally increases nutrients in food and has higher yields in poor countries. Why use GM foods when there are cheaper, less risky alternatives?

Why give Africans $100,000,000 polished GM rice and maybe increase diabetes, instead of crops they already have for beta carotene?

Also, GM itself doesn't have to be dangerous. E.g. placing a gene (from nature) in a crop plant (the un-natural part) that makes it resistant to a fungal disease doesn't mean GM crops are suddenly going to be dangerous for people to eat. If that gene is from another crop plant that is naturally resistant, how is putting it in another plant suddenly making it toxic?? it doesn't. Still, I think Monsanto as an over-powerful company, like others, are a problem to society.

I agree completely that screwing with nature has consequences, but don't forget that today's agriculture itself is the ultimate meddling with nature, where in nature do you find massive areas of land in monoculture? We were in the deep end well before GM crops were ever developed, the problems with pests and crop disease are amplified by having massive areas dominated by one crop.. GM might help get rid of plant diseases and pests - but won't remove the cause..

The technology of it is amazing to you...well maybe I can watch the effects on you since you think it is sooo amazing..do a documentary on your health issues while consuming this amazing technology. Lab rats like you should volunteer, it shouldn't be forced on those who understand the damage it is doing.

GM agriculture isn't the problem (monoculture itself i agree more).. It's gonna be an important tool to feed everyone we've got on the planet.. but Monsanto, and their patenting and blatant greed need to be stopped. There's a lot of propaganda against GM crops when the majority people don't really know what they are or how they work. Its the big companies and their marketing to blame, not the technology. The technology is potentially amazing.. just look at "Golden Rice".
