i dont know about that ,there are many proponents of thorium, they say that was propaganda ,and they went with uranium over thorium because they wanted to use the waste for the bomb ,they say it could have worked then, like 60 yers ago when uranium reactors were being developed and that its easier and cheaper to refine than uranium ,im sure they could improve it now

JesusHChrist2000 Says:
USA imports far more oil than it exports, and most of those exports are refined into petrol and sent back to the US. Most of the easy flowing light oil has been sucked up allready, and the US doesn't have anything even close to the size of the Suadi Ghawar field There are major problems with thorium reactors. Mainly that the moltern fluride salt disociates at working temporature and the flurine ions react with the walls of the reactor, causing the reactors to breakdown in a matter of days.

there is enough fossil fuel for millenia, and if it ran out we could use thorium ,the fact is it cost money to extract these thing if they wanted tot hey could extract enough fuel to make gas 10 cents a gallon and still make huge profits, but they rather tell you its running out and spend less on discovery and extraction and just charge you more for less, they make way more profit that way, thorium could power everything for tens of thousands of year, and we would have fusion WAY before then

what a total fraud, i swear this guy works for exxon, or bp ,its called artificial scarcity, the US now exports more oil than it imports, and there is more oil under the mid west than there is in the mid east, the real truth is the world is awash in oil, they came up with peak oil fraud to make people think the oil is running out so they can charge you more for it,all this is total crap, just like ecoscience and the population bomb, it never happened ,more corporate propaganda

Natural gas is just as finite as coal and oil. Replacing one drug for another solves nothing.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of the documentary as a whole. Finding a renewable energy source is not the problem, humans are the problem. We need to curtail our population very soon or we will exhuast all of the worlds resources very soon. Crops, trees, space etc. We are an extiction level event mid process. do the world a favour,. do not have children

Harregarre Says:
Have you watched the video? Using oil or any other finite source is simply the same as his bacteria-bottle example. You can find as much oil as has ever been used but it would still only last one doubling time.

nightgod473 Says:
It's critical to note that, at least in terms of the concern about using up coal, natural gas recovery through frakking and horizontal drilling has greatly reduced our dependency on coal

I was literally thinking the same thing. The growth that companies, wall st and bankers are used to and expect has also grown exponentially, and when they realize that is unsustainable, they simply lie, cheat, steal, or change the game in order to meet their own ridiculous expectations.
